The growing demand for down and feather products has resulted in a proliferation of products being imported into Canada every year.

Unfortunately, not all of these products meet Canada’s quality standards and what is more they can be labelled and advertised with false or misleading claims about the content and quality of the down and feather fill.

This reality makes it very difficult to know exactly which products are genuine, and puts Canadian consumers at risk of paying more for lesser quality or possibly even fake down and/or feather products.

This is where the Down Association of Canada helps with our DOWNMARK® certification program. We are the only independent organization in Canada that serves to help Canadians recognize genuine down and feather-filled products.

For 45 years, our association have been dedicated to developing, monitoring, and helping to promote Canada’s quality standards. Consumers who buy products displaying either of these DOWNMARK® labels can rest assured that their down or feather products are genuine items that have been finished in Canada according to all our standards.
